Walmart Canada in Yorkton, SK is seeking a Self-Checkout Attendant to assist customers at the self-checkout area, maintain a clean and safe environment, and promote store programs. This role emphasizes friendly, helpful service in a fast-paced retail setting.

You will help customers complete self-checkout transactions, respond to alerts, manage Scan & Go equipment, and adapt to evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. This is a part-time position based in Yorkton.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized self checkout area, ensuring it remains free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and spills.
• Supports the promotion of company sponsored programs, including credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives, when applicable.
• Helps customers use self checkout quickly and confidently by offering assistance when needed, monitoring activity, and completing required checks. Clearly explain any interventions in a friendly, reassuring way and elevate cash or technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.
• Responds to EAS alarms in accordance with procedures and accurately completes the “Failure to Deactivate” log.
• Ensures Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage locations after use.
• Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.

Support Customers at Self Checkout

Physical Demands

• Performs physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.
