Walmart Canada is seeking a Self‑Checkout Attendant at our Strathmore, AB location. You will assist customers at the self-checkout area, promote Walmart programs, and help maintain efficient, friendly service in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Support Customers at Self Checkout: Helps customers use self checkout quickly and confidently by offering assistance when needed, monitoring activity, and completing required checks.
• Respond to EAS Alerts and Complete Documentation: Responds to EAS alarms in accordance with procedures and accurately completes the “Failure to Deactivate” log.
• Manage Scan & Go Equipment: Ensures Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage locations after use.

What You’ll Do

Maintain Self Checkout Area Standards

Promote Walmart Programs and Initiatives: Supports the promotion of company sponsored programs, including credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives, when applicable.

Support Customers at Self Checkout: Helps customers use self checkout quickly and confidently by offering assistance when needed, monitoring activity, and completing required checks. Clearly explain any interventions in a friendly, reassuring way and elevate cash or technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.

Respond to EAS Alerts and Complete Documentation: Responds to EAS alarms in accordance with procedures and accurately completes the “Failure to Deactivate” log.

Manage Scan & Go Equipment: Ensures Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage locations after use.

Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule)

• Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high-quality service.

• Manages overnight hours effectively and planning accordingly to stay energized and focused.
• Effectively manages work hours and plans ahead to maintain energy and focus throughout the shift.
• Handles a fast‑paced workload with efficiency, ensuring large volumes of restocking and recovery are completed accurately and on time.

Physical Demands

• Performs physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.
