Job summary

Walmart Canada is hiring a Self-Checkout Attendant to support a positive shopping experience by assisting customers at the self‑service checkout area. You will provide friendly, helpful service and ensure transactions are completed smoothly.

You may work evenings, weekends or holidays to meet store needs, helping maintain a clean, organized checkout zone and guiding customers through steps as needed, while escalating issues to the Customer Service Manager when required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized self checkout area, ensuring it remains free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and spills.
• Supports the promotion of company sponsored programs, including credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives, when applicable.
• Helps customers use self checkout quickly and confidently by offering assistance when needed, monitoring activity, and completing required checks; clearly explains any interventions in a friendly, reassuring way and escalates cash or technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.
• Responds to EAS alarms in accordance with procedures and accurately completes the "Failure to Deactivate" log.
• Ensures Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage locations after use.
• Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs; your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high-quality service.

• Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.
