Walmart Canada is seeking a Relief Pharmacist to support the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist across locations in Ottawa. The role focuses on accurate dispensing, patient counseling, and maintaining compliance with SOPs and privacy regulations.

You will travel to various store locations, build collaborative relationships with healthcare providers, and help ensure a high-quality patient experience while delivering a wide range of pharmacy services under the relief program.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations.
• Ensure excellent patient experience and counsel patients on medications.
• Accept prescriptions and refills from customers, doctors or hospitals.
• Fill prescriptions accurately and efficiently following established workflows and OBWs/SOPs.
• Ensure proper storage of pharmaceutical products and maintain patient privacy per provincial regulations.
• Operate pharmacy equipment and systems (registers, computer systems) as required.
• Provide eligible services (medication reviews, injections) to meet patient needs.
• Collaborate with clinics and Vision Centre teams and other health care providers within the store.

Position Summary...

The Relief Pharmacist assists the Pharmacy Manager and the Staff Pharmacist in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations.

What You'll Do...

• Ensure excellent patient experience, locate merchandise on the sales floor.
• Establish and develop a strong working relationship with Professional Services District Managers and other stakeholders.
• Accept prescriptions and/or refill requests from Customers, Doctors or Hospitals.
• Ensure all prescriptions are filled accurately, efficiently, and safely using the established workflow models and counsel all patients on sold pharmaceutical products.
• Ensure proper storage of pharmaceutical products.
• Execute processes as per OBWs/SOPs.
• Ability to operate all equipment in the pharmacy (register, computer system etc.). Protect and maintain patient privacy at all times and follow provincial regulations established by the regulatory body. Ensure patients receive all eligible services they are entitled to (medication reviews, injections etc.) to meet specific patient needs. Must follow OBW regulations as per the Relief Pharmacist program. Must travel to various locations and follow the schedules set by the Relief program coordinator. Develop and establish a collaborative relationships with other health care providers within the store (clinics, Vision Centre, their community etc.).

The pay range for this position is $41.60 - $55.90/hr. Rate of pay will be determined based on relevant experience.
