Job summary

Walmart Canada in Scarborough, ON is seeking a Meat Associate to deliver outstanding customer service, keep the meat department clean, organized, and well-stocked, and support daily sales activities in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will prepare and serve deli items, use slicers and other equipment safely, follow food safety and cold chain standards, and collaborate with teammates to ensure a fresh, inviting shopping experience for every customer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Department Organization and Standards: keep department clean, organized, and customer-ready; rotate stock and remove expired items.
• Ensure Accurate Pricing and Signing: price and sign merchandise; follow procedures for ordering, clearance, markups, and labeling.
• Follow Food Safety and Cold Chain Practices: practice temperature checks, correct handling, date compliance.
• Prepare and Serve Deli Products: take orders and prepare deli items using slicers, stackers, ovens, fryers and related tools.
• Health and Safety Compliance: follow safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe environment.
• Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule): be open to evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain Department Organization and Standards Keeps the department clean, organized, and properly zoned to ensure it is customer‑ready at all times. Rotates stock regularly and removes expired or unsellable products.


• Ensure Accurate Pricing and Signing Ensures all merchandise is correctly signed and priced. Follows established procedures for ordering, clearance, markups and markdowns, signing, flagging, pricing, and labeling.


• Follow Food Safety and Cold Chain Practices Adheres to food safety and cold chain standards, including temperature checks, thermometer calibration, proper food handling, product rotation, sell‑by dates, and expiration date compliance.


• Prepare and Serve Deli Products Takes customer orders and prepares deli items such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken. Uses slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, deep fryers, and other tools safely to prepare food, fill display cases, and complete special customer orders.


• Health and Safety Compliance Follows all Health and Safety guidelines and Company policies to maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic work environment.


• Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule)
