Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking a Manager, Data Analyst to support the Canadian Technology Data Engineering team with hands-on analytics, reporting, and insights for priority initiatives.

Qualifications

What You\'ll Do
Position Summary

The Manager, Data Analyst supports the Canadian Technology Data Engineering team by delivering hands on analytics, reporting, and insights for priority initiatives. This role focuses on translating defined business needs into high quality analysis, dashboards, and repeatable datasets—while partnering closely with Data Engineering to ensure reliable data sourcing, quality, and security practices. (No direct people management.)

Hands-on analytics delivery
  • Translate business questions into analytic requirements, data pulls, and repeatable reporting outputs.
  • Perform exploratory analysis and produce clear, decision‑ready insights; present findings in business language.
Data sourcing and integration
  • Identify and evaluate data sources; support processes to acquire, join, and validate data from multiple sources.
  • Partner with Data Engineering to improve dataset usability, documentation, and accessibility for analytics consumption.
  • Collaborate with other teams to aid with building visuals that directly support business decisions and ongoing operational tracking.
Data quality and controls
  • Monitor data quality indicators; proactively identify issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate fixes with engineering partners.
  • Coordinate and support security measures to safeguard information.
Initiative execution
  • Support multiple initiatives by tracking deliverables, documenting assumptions/definitions, and ensuring outputs are reproducible.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in analytics/data work.
  • Strong experience in Retail (Brick & Mortar and eCommerce) and as a Data Analyst (7+ years)
  • Strong SQL experience and proficiency with at least one analytics/programming tool (e.g., Python/R).
  • Demonstrated ability to assess data quality, validate sources, and communicate limitations/assumptions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with GCP/BigQuery and/or cloud data ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with statistical techniques (hypothesis testing, inference) and experiment measurement.
  • Experience with Generative and Agentic AI

The pay range for this position is $91,900.00 - $126,390.00. Pay will be determined based on relevant experience.
