Job summary

Walmart Canada in Whitecourt, AB is seeking a General Merchandise Associate to deliver excellent customer service on the sales floor and support stocking and merchandising across general merchandise.

You will engage customers, help find products, maintain a clean, organized floor, and assist with floor coverage, safety, and compliance while adapting to a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Cover assigned areas of the sales floor and assist with Front End coverage when required; communicate with colleagues to ensure floor coverage and customer needs are met.
• Zone areas to maintain a clean, organized sales floor; move feature merchandise to modular locations; process recovery merchandise from various store areas.
• Stock merchandise and picks, complete downstocking as required, apply product protection, set and complete modulars including flex modulars and new shelf caps.
• Maintain a safe, clean, hazard-free work environment by following policies and procedures, complete safety logs, ensure displays and fixtures are secure.
• Be available for a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.

What You’ll Do

Deliver An Excellent Customer Experience

• Provides friendly and professional customer service by greeting customers, assisting with product selection, promoting products and services, helping locate merchandise, supporting purchase decisions, and resolving or referring customer concerns as needed.

Sales Floor Coverage and Team Support

• Covers assigned areas of the sales floor and assists with Front End coverage when required. Communicates with other associates to ensure floor coverage is maintained and customer needs are met.

Merchandising, Zoning, and Recovery

• Zones assigned areas to maintain a clean and organized sales floor. Moves feature merchandise to its modular location and processes recovery merchandise from the Customer Service desk and other areas of the store.

Stocking and Modular Execution

• Stocks merchandise and picks, completes downstocking as required, applies product protection when needed, and sets and completes modulars, including flex modulars and new shelf caps.

Safety, Cleanliness, and Compliance

• Maintains a safe, clean, and hazard‑free work environment by following Company policies and procedures, completing safety sweep logs, and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure.

Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule)

• Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high‑quality service.

• Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.
