Job summary

Walmart Canada in Richmond, BC is seeking a General Merchandise Associate to deliver friendly customer service, help customers with product selection, and support stocking and sales activities across the general merchandise area.

You will keep the sales floor clean and organized, assist with merchandising, zoning, recovery, and modular setups, and contribute to a safe, efficient store. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Experience in customer service is a plus.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Delivers friendly and professional customer service by greeting customers, assisting with product selection, promoting products and services, helping locate merchandise, supporting purchase decisions, and resolving customer concerns as needed.
• Covers assigned areas of the sales floor and assists with Front End coverage when required; communicates with teammates to ensure floor coverage and customer needs are met.
• Zones and organizes designated areas to maintain a clean and orderly sales floor; moves feature merchandise to modular locations and handles recovery from various store areas.
• Stocks merchandise and performs downstocking; applies product protection; sets and completes modulars, including flex modulars and new shelf caps.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment by following company policies, performing safety checks, and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure.
• Be open to a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs.

What You'll Do...

Deliver An Excellent Customer Experience

Provides friendly and professional customer service by greeting customers, assisting with product selection, promoting products and services, helping locate merchandise, supporting purchase decisions, and resolving or referring customer concerns as needed.

Sales Floor Coverage and Team Support

Covers assigned areas of the sales floor and assists with Front End coverage when required. Communicates with other associates to ensure floor coverage is maintained and customer needs are met.

Merchandising, Zoning, and Recovery

Zones assigned areas to maintain a clean and organized sales floor. Moves feature merchandise to its modular location and processes recovery merchandise from the Customer Service desk and other areas of the store.

Stocking and Modular Execution

Stocks merchandise and picks, completes downstocking as required, applies product protection when needed, and sets and completes modulars, including flex modulars and new shelf caps.

Safety, Cleanliness, and Compliance

Maintains a safe, clean, and hazard-free work environment by following Company policies and procedures, completing safety sweep logs, and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure.

Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule)

• Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high-quality service.

Physical Demands

• Performs physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.
