Job summary

Walmart Canada is hiring a Deli Associate at our Grand Prairie, AB location. You will provide exceptional customer service, zone and maintain the deli area, and assist with stocking and selling deli products.

You’ll prepare meat, cheese, and prepared foods, ensure accurate labeling, and follow food safety standards. This role starts at a minimum hourly rate and offers opportunities to develop retail skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Zones the department and maintains the deli area.
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• Ensures merchandise is signed and priced properly.
• Adheres to cold chain standards, thermometer calibrations, and food handling protocols.
• Slices and prepares deli merchandise and assists customers.
• Supports front end associates with price checks.
• Prepares deli foods using slicers, rotisseries, fryers, and other utensils; fills salads and specialty orders.

What You'll Do...

• Zones the department.
• Rotates stock and checking for expired products.
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; slicing and preparing merchandise, such as meat, cheese, fried chicken; and providing requested assistance.
• Provides assistance to the front end Associates with price checks.
• Prepares deli food orders, meat, cheese, and utilizing slicers ,stackers, and other utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven and deep fryer; and filling prepared salads and side dishes for placement into display area and specialty orders from Customers as required.
• Keeps the area neat, clean, and organized; free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and liquids.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $16.95.
