Job summary

Walmart Canada in New Westminster, BC is seeking a friendly Consumables Associate to help customers and move merchandise from backroom to salesfloor in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

You will greet customers, promote products, locate items, answer questions, resolve issues, stock, rotate, price, and maintain displays while keeping store safe and clean. Starting wage is 18.40 CAD per hour with opportunities for growth and development.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a polite and friendly manner.
• Assist customers by promoting products/services, locating merchandise and making purchase decisions.
• Resolve customer issues and refer concerns to management where appropriate.
• Maintain salesfloor presentation by stocking and rotating merchandise, removing damaged or out-of-date goods, setting up and maintaining product displays, signing and pricing merchandise.
• Ensure proper handling of claims and returns, secure merchandise, identify high shrink items and maintain a safe work environment as per Company policies and procedures.
• Receive and stock merchandise, utilizes equipment appropriately, administers required paperwork, logs and other documentation.
• Refer appropriate service and transactional items to a Customer Service Manager as required.
• Stock merchandise/picks, Downstocks if applicable. Applies product protection when required. Sets and completes modulars, including flex modulars and sets new shelf caps.
