Job summary

Walmart Canada in Langford, BC is seeking a Bakery Associate to provide friendly customer service and maintain the bakery department. You will help stock and display fresh bakery goods to help customers find what they need.

You will follow food safety and sanitation procedures, ensure items are signed and priced, and assist with ordering and merchandising to keep the department ready for business. Minimum age is 16 or older.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise; such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Ensure that department is fully stocked with merchandise and is ready for business.
• Ensure the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adhere to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• Adhere to food safety and handling procedures and following sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Ensures all displays are secured in a safe and proper manner.

Salary

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $18.70.
