Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking a Bakery Associate in Chilliwack, BC to provide friendly customer service and keep the Bakery Department stocked and well-presented.

You will follow food safety and sanitation procedures, sign and price items, and assist with ordering, tagging, and display maintenance while helping customers find items and answer questions. This role starts at an hourly rate with opportunities for growth.

Minimum age is 16, and Walmart offers accommodations as required by law.

• Follow cold chain, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, rotation, sell-by and expiration dates.
• Follow food safety, sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Handle ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
• Prepare bakery merchandise by following thawing and baking guidelines; maintain display quality.
• Keep displays secured safely.

What you'll do

• Ensures the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise; such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Ensures that department is fully stocked with merchandise and is ready for business.
• Ensures that the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• Adheres to food safety and handling procedures and following sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Ensures all displays are secured in a safe and proper manner.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $18.70. Le taux horaire minimum pour ce poste débute à 18.70.
