Job summary

Walmar in Abbotsford, BC is seeking a dedicated Store Security and Loss Prevention associate. You will conduct daily store patrols to maintain safety, investigate incidents and support leadership with findings.

You will participate in emergency responses and external apprehensions as needed, while ensuring clear communication and reporting to the leadership team. The role requires flexibility for varied shifts including evenings and weekends, and a commitment to protecting people and merchandise

Qualifications

• Age 16 years or older required.
• Must hold a valid Security Guard License as per regulations.

Responsibilities

• Store security and loss prevention through daily patrols to ensure a safe environment.
• Investigate shrink and incidents; report findings to leadership and escalate as needed.
• Support emergency procedures and store operations during incidents.
• Carry out external apprehensions in compliance with policy and law.
• Gather information from multiple sources and communicate clearly to stakeholders.
• Perform additional duties as required to support business needs.

Verifies that doors, showcases, and security features are functioning properly and takes action as required.Investigations and Case SupportInvestigates incidents of financial and physical shrink and communicates findings to Store Leadership. For internal investigations, escalates information to the Market Loss Prevention Manager in accordance with Company guidelines. Conducts or supports investigations related to internal theft, external theft, organized retail crime, and cases assigned through Walmart Canada Global Ethics.Emergency Response and Store SupportSupports store evacuation and emergency procedures during incidents such as fire or other emergencies. Participates in store task team responsibilities as required to support overall operations.Enforcement and External ApprehensionsCarries out external apprehensions when required, in compliance with Company policies and legal standards.Communication and ReportingGathers and communicates information from multiple sources, clearly explaining issues and findings to leadership and other stakeholders while presenting relevant perspectives.Additional DutiesCompletes additional responsibilities as required to support evolving business needs and Asset Protection priorities.Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule) • Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
