Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of registered practical nurse experience in a clinical or outpatient setting.
• Knowledge of medical interventions and standards of care.
• Ability to build trust quickly with individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and treatment of health conditions in a supportive role.
• Administer medications and vaccines as ordered.
• Ensure exam rooms are prepped before each patient visit.

Skills

Excellent interpersonal communication skills

Ability to assess the risk of infection exposure

Ability to make informed decisions

Basic knowledge of disease processes

Knowledge of health subjects relevant to students

Education

College diploma in Practical Nursing

Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
