Vancouver Island Mental Health Society is seeking a compassionate team member to support clients in a safe, clean environment. You will screen admissions, observe and document client status, and connect individuals to community resources as needed.

The role requires empathy, initiative, and the ability to communicate effectively. Dress is casual; benefits include an employee assistance program and supportive supervision within a community-focused facility.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 3–6 months related experience or equivalent education, training and experience.
• Valid First Aid with CPR-C.
• Valid Food Safe Certificate.
• Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Check for working with vulnerable populations.

Aufgaben

• Maintains a safe, clean, well-ordered environment.
• Screens client's behaviour for admittance using intercom system and/or records clients' discharge.
• Observes clients and reports/records basic information.
• Provides food, blankets, hygiene supplies, first aid supplies to clients as required.
• Provides links to community resources to clients as needed.
• Prepares light snacks.
• Performs daily housekeeping duties, including laundry.
• Re-stocks facility supplies and notifies supervisor when purchases are necessary.
• Adheres to the Society's standards, protocols, and policies.
• Completes and maintains related records and documentation such as daily logs, filing, and communication books.
• Performs other related duties as required.

• Non-violent crisis intervention training an asset
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to observe and recognize and report changes in clients.
