Job summary

Our client in the mining sector is seeking a Site Contract Specialist (Pre-Award) to drive the full contract lifecycle for a major capital project. The role emphasizes pre-award activities, procurement strategy, tendering, and contract administration on site with a 2/2 rotation. 1-year contract with potential extension.

Responsibilities include leading RFPs, bid evaluations, contract negotiations, and ensuring governance and compliant documentation, while monitoring cost and schedule performance.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, contract administration, and commercial management.
• Experience supporting major capital projects within mining, construction, infrastructure, industrial, or heavy industry environments.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, competitive tendering, contractor management, and contract negotiation.
• Experience managing multiple contract types, including lump sum, unit rate, reimbursable, and target-cost agreements.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement and sourcing activities from planning through contract award.
• Prepare and manage RFPs, bid evaluations, commercial assessments, and negotiations.
• Administer contracts throughout execution, including amendments, change orders, and claims management.
• Ensure compliance with contractual, commercial, and governance requirements.
• Review and approve contractor invoices, progress claims, and payment documentation.
• Monitor contractor performance against safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
• Facilitate contractor and stakeholder meetings to resolve commercial and operational issues.
• Maintain purchase orders, contracts, and commercial records within project systems.
• Support contractor onboarding, mobilization, and project readiness activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve commercial outcomes, mitigate risk, and optimize project value.
