Job summary

APTN seeks a Camera Editor to cover a range of news assignments, from breaking events to cultural celebrations. You will shoot, edit, and deliver content for broadcast and digital platforms, operating ENG and studio cameras and supporting producers and on-air talent.

The role requires a diploma or certificate in a related discipline, strong English communication, and knowledge of Indigenous cultural issues, plus a valid driver’s license for travel.

Qualifications

• A diploma or certificate in a related discipline with proven current daily News broadcast experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• A sensitivity and understanding of culture and issues relevant to Indigenous communities.
• Strong computer/internet/social media familiarity and knowledge of broadcast technology/troubleshooting.
• A valid driver’s license and a clear driver’s abstract.

Responsibilities

• Cover a range of news assignments, including current events, political stories, rallies, protests, cultural festivals, and community events.
• Shoot, edit, and deliver high-quality news and current affairs content for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Operate ENG and studio cameras and other broadcast equipment.
• Edit and organize video, audio, graphics, titles, clips, and sequences within the editing system.
• Support production teams and on-air talent with technical and production needs, including media transfers and formatting.
• Build and maintain professional contacts while travelling to local and remote communities.
• Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining accuracy, quality, and attention to detail.
