Job summary

A national architectural organization in Canada invites members to join the Culture of Design Working Group. Members will contribute their expertise and perspectives to advance the dialogue on design's role in shaping the built environment. Strong communication skills and a professional background in architecture or design are required. Job Description

The RAIC is launching a new Culture of Design Working Group and invites expressions of interest from members who wish to contribute their expertise and perspectives.

Purpose

The Culture of Design Working Group will advance dialogue, knowledge, and action on the role of design in shaping Canada’s built environment. The group will explore how design influences culture, well–being, equity, sustainability, and innovation in architectural practice and society at large.

Membership

The Working Group will be composed of licensed architects and subject matter experts who bring diverse experience and perspectives. Consideration will be given to representation across regions, languages, practice types, and lived experiences. Members are expected to:

  • Actively participate in meetings and group activities
  • Review and provide feedback on materials
  • Help identify emerging issues and opportunities
  • Contribute to deliverables such as reports, resources, or events
Commitment

Members will serve a renewable two-year term and participate primarily in virtual meetings.

Eligibility

We welcome applications from RAIC members in good standing who demonstrate:

  • Professional experience in architecture, design, or related fields
  • Interest in design culture, equity, sustainability, and reconciliation
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
