Job summary

Gambles Group of Companies is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for our Calgary Distribution Centre. You will conduct produce inspections, verify quality to CFIA/USDA standards, and support the ripening team in a fast-paced warehouse setting.

The role requires early mornings and weekend shifts to ensure inbound/outbound shipments meet quality criteria. Ideal candidates have post-secondary education in food science or agriculture, familiarity with CFIA standards, strong English communication,

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in food science, natural science and/or agriculture.
  • Knowledge of CFIA grading standards and produce specifications is an asset.
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and work in a warehouse environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Excel/Word).
  • Familiarity with PPE and OHSA.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enforce Gambles’ quality specifications.
  • Perform and report quality assessments during live inbound receiving.
  • Support ripening team and coordinate CFIA inspections as required.
  • Coordinate quality reporting requests (photos, weight, size, etc.).
  • Handle sub-par product disposition and transfers/RTS coordination.
  • Support third-party inspections and outbound QC checks.
