Job summary

WSP is seeking an Intermediate Landscape Architect / Designer in Calgary to lead and contribute to landscape architecture and urban design projects across Western Canada. You will work from concept through construction in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting, helping deliver community-focused, environmentally responsible solutions.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of professional landscape architecture experience.
• Full Member in Good Standing with the AALA is an asset.
• Strong technical proficiency with CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience performing field reviews and observing construction.
• Experience preparing proposals and supporting business development activities.
• Knowledge of project management principles and design development, construction documentation, site grading, planting design, detailing, and contract administration.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to landscape architecture and urban design projects from concept through contract administration.
• Develop creative, environmentally responsible, and technically sound design solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes across a range of project types and scales.
• Support proposal development, client pursuits, and business development initiatives.
• Lead portions of project delivery while mentoring early-career professionals.
• Prepare and coordinate design documentation including site design, grading, planting plans, detailing, and construction packages.
• Engage with clients, stakeholders, and the public to build strong working relationships.
• Contribute to a culture of innovation and design excellence across Western Canada.
