Job summary

Vista Projects Limited in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a Buyer/Expeditor to manage procurement across multiple projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchases of materials and equipment. You will issue RFQs, evaluate bids, create purchase orders, and support expediting while maintaining supplier relationships and project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Working within a project team environment, potentially on multiple projects.
• Ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement while adhering to client requirements and proper procurement practices.
• Maintaining status reports.
• Preparing, issuing and evaluating standard procurement documents including bid lists, request for quotation and commercial bid evaluations.
• Purchasing mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, structural steel and piping commodity materials and equipment.
• Executing appropriate bidding strategies.
• Creating and issuing purchase orders for materials and equipment.
• Assisting in the negotiation of progress payments.
• Developing and managing vendor/contractor relationships.
• Assisting with expediting, as required.
• Performing other duties as requested.
• Attending and potentially managing purchase order kick off meetings.
• Attending local shop expediting visits, as required.
• Closing purchase orders.
• Communicating with suppliers to resolve issues affecting a purchase order.
• Attending status meetings with suppliers.
• Reviewing material and service invoices for accuracy.
• Coordinating transportation and logistics, as required.

What You Would Do in This Role

The Buyer/Expeditor is responsible for performing procurement activities to ensure the timely purchase of materials and equipment to meet project requirements. Duties include:

• Working within a project team environment, potentially on multiple projects
