What You'll Do

What You\'ll Do:

As a Buyer within this global organisation, you will play an integral role in ensuring seamless supply chain operations by managing every aspect of the procurement process. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve:

  • Identify and evaluate subcontractors based on their capability to deliver quality products at competitive costs while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing structures, and delivery schedules with suppliers to ensure optimal value for the organisation’s procurement needs.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance through regular reviews and maintain effective communication channels to address any issues promptly.
  • Place purchase orders in strict compliance with company policies and uphold the highest ethical standards throughout all procurement activities.
  • Track and expedite orders diligently to meet project deadlines and operational requirements without compromising on quality or cost.

Please note, this is an on-site role with the office located between Manchester and Oldham. Hours are 7.30am – 4pm (Monday to Thursday), and 7.30am – 12pm (Friday).

To excel as a Buyer, you will bring a blend of practical experience in procurement processes along with strong interpersonal skills that foster effective collaboration across teams. Your background may include:

  • Bachelor’s degree combined with relevant experience in procurement or equivalent professional background without formal qualifications is highly valued.
  • Holding or willingness to obtain APICS/MCIPS or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Experience purchasing raw materials or machined parts.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably JDE.
