Job summary

Bunzl Canada Inc. is seeking a Buyer to manage select key suppliers nationally across all warehouses. You will build strong supplier relationships and identify cost-effective ways to manage inventory across Bunzl's network.

The role involves coordinating with sales, customer service and warehouse teams, issuing RFQs and purchase orders, and ensuring timely deliveries while optimizing stock levels. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree, 3–5 years in supply chain/procurement in a high-volume

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years’ supply chain experience in a high-volume distribution environment.
• SCMA certification is preferred.
• Ability to effectively manage inventory and service level.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with strong analytical and vendor negotiation skills.
• Basic knowledge of financial statements and trial balance information.
• Ability to work in a Windows environment with MS Office.
• Previous experience working with SX Enterprise is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain product availability considering sales trends, forecast, lead time and cost efficiency: issuing RFQs and purchase orders.
• Manage inventory control for multiple warehouses including inventory reviews to reduce obsolete materials.
• Maintain frequent communications with suppliers to ensure project/quotation and deliveries are on schedule.
• Negotiate product availability on time to meet customer requirements and manage returns to vendors.
• Meet key suppliers and conduct facility visits to understand operational efficiencies.
• Work closely with sales, customer service, warehouse staff and clients.
• Support internal staff with expert knowledge and services, and resolve customer complaints or problems.

• Manage inventory control for multiple warehouses to include inventory review to reduce and eliminate any obsolete materials
• Maintain frequent communications with suppliers to ensure project/quotation and deliveries are on schedule
• Negotiate product availability on time to meet customer requirements, managing the process of returning goods to vendors
• Meet key suppliers, conduct facility visits to have clear understanding of operational efficiencies
• Work closely with sales, customer service, warehouse staff and clients
• Support internal staff with expert knowledge and services, and resolves any customer complaints or problems

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and Minimum 3-5 years’ supply chain and procurement experience in a high volume distribution environment
• Certification from Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) is preferred
• Ability to effectively manage inventory and service level
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with strong analytical and vendor negotiation skills
• Basic knowledge of financial statements and trial balance information.
• Ability to work in a Windows environment with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Previous experience working with SX Enterprise an asset
