Job summary

A growing custom fabrication manufacturer is seeking an experienced Buyer to join their team. This role involves managing purchasing activities for raw materials and production consumables, collaborating closely with production and engineering teams to ensure on-time delivery and supplier performance. Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of relevant purchasing experience and strong negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of purchasing experience in automotive, heavy manufacturing, or fabrication.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand basic fabrication terminology.

Responsibilities

• Issue and manage purchase orders for production materials, tooling, and supplies.
• Source and evaluate new suppliers to improve quality, cost, and lead times.
• Negotiate pricing and delivery terms while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
• Monitor MRP data to forecast material requirements and prevent shortages.
• Support the Purchasing Manager with reporting, supplier audits, and cost-analysis projects.
• Collaborate with operations to resolve delivery, quality, or invoicing issues.

The Opportunity

As a key member of the purchasing team, you’ll support daily buying activities for fabricated components, raw materials, and production consumables. You’ll work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to manage supplier performance, ensure on-time delivery, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

What You’ll Do
