Responsibilities:
  • Placing purchase orders for inventory and non‑stock items for branches and customer orders;
  • Reviewing and sending purchase orders via email and/or EDI to vendors;
  • Confirming transmission of orders and updating expected ship dates in the system;
  • Resolving purchase order errors and investigating non‑conformances (e.g., incorrect or damaged materials);
  • Monitoring open purchase orders and ensuring timely follow‑up;
  • Filing purchase orders and assisting with cycle counts;
  • Reviewing reports for stock‑outs and expediting open orders;
  • Monitoring price increases and communicating changes;
  • Assisting with stock rotations and inventory level reviews;
  • Supporting inventory control through line point/order point analysis;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Minimum three years of related experience in purchasing or inventory management;
  • High School Diploma required; post‑secondary courses in Purchasing preferred;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word); Excel skills are a nice addition;
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Professional judgment and tact when dealing with internal and external contacts;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling;
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and systems.
