Through a rich exchange of ideas, meaningful collaboration, and a nimble operating model, we're powering some of the nation's most critical systems, fueling capital formation and innovation, bringing increased opportunity to business visionaries, product ingenuity to consumers, and career exploration to our team. Ready to be part of the action?

The Department: Global Technology Services (GTS) At TMX, we are more than an exchange; we are a technology-driven solutions provider. Global Technology Services (GTS) is the engine behind this vision. We manage the firm’s information technology, integrated operations, and data analytics, ensuring that our infrastructure is as innovative as the markets we serve.

The Role: Business Systems Analyst (Data & Analytics)

As a Business Systems Analyst, you will act as the critical bridge between business ambition and technical execution. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data & Analytics, you won’t just document requirements—you will act as a strategic advisor. You will translate complex business needs into high-performance system functionalities, ensuring that every change request and development project aligns with TMX’s long-term organizational goals.

Key Accountabilities

Requirements Architecture: Lead the discovery, validation, and documentation of functional and non-functional requirements. You will facilitate high-impact stakeholder sessions to align project goals with technical feasibility.

Strategic Advisory: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on TMX business activities, providing a consultative approach to how systems can better serve our internal and external partners.

Process Optimization: Beyond documentation, you will analyze existing workflows to identify bottlenecks, applying industry best practices to streamline operations.

Technical Translation: Work hand-in-hand with software developers and architects to transform Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) into robust technical specifications.

Data & Vendor Integration: Oversee the technical onboarding and integration of third-party vendors, ensuring data integrity and long-term partnership success.

Quality Assurance & Delivery: Design comprehensive test cases and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and end-user training to ensure seamless "go-live" transitions.

Project Stewardship: Support Project Managers in defining scope, estimating timelines, and navigating risks. You will keep stakeholders informed through every phase of the project lifecycle.

Skills & Experience

The Must-Haves:
Education: University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Management.
Domain Expertise: Deep experience in Capital Markets, with a specific focus on Fixed Income products and workflows.
Technical Stack: Proficiency in SQL and Python. Hands-on experience with modern data environments including Snowflake, AWS, and Spark.
Communication: The ability to translate "geek" to "Greek"—conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders with clarity and poise.
Analytical Rigor: A meticulous eye for detail and the ability to deconstruct complex business problems into actionable, phased project steps.
Drive: You are a self-starter who thrives in a multi-tasking environment and takes full ownership of projects from inception to completion.

Nice-to-Haves

Industry Credentials: Progression toward or completion of CFA, CSC, CPH, or TTC certifications.

Advanced Analytics: Experience working with Big Data technologies and Machine Learning (ML) models.

Tooling: Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Lucidchart for workflow modeling and project tracking.
