Job summary

Realign Llc in Toronto, ON is seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to support data-driven transformation initiatives. You will bridge business stakeholders, data engineering teams, and technology partners to gather requirements and drive the delivery of enterprise data solutions.

The ideal candidate has 3–6 years of BA experience, hands-on Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, PySpark, and SQL skills, with banking/financial services exposure preferred. Hybrid work, 4 onsite days.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL querying, data analysis, and data validation skills.

• Experience working with source-to-target mapping and ETL/ELT processes.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, document, and manage business and functional requirements.
• Conduct stakeholder workshops, requirement elicitation sessions, and impact assessments.
• Prepare BRDs, FRDs, User Stories, Process Flows, Use Cases, and Acceptance Criteria.
• Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications for development and data engineering teams.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and requirements discussions.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate business validation activities.
• Perform Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) and data lineage analysis.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business System Analyst with 3-6 years of experience supporting data-driven transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine strong Business Analysis and requirements management capabilities with hands‑on knowledge of Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks (ADB), PySpark, and SQL.

The successful candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders, data engineering teams, architecture, and technology partners to gather requirements, perform data analysis, support data integration initiatives, and drive the successful delivery of enterprise data solutions.

Experience within the Banking and Financial Services domain is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

• Gather, analyze, document, and manage business and functional requirements.
• Conduct stakeholder workshops, requirement elicitation sessions, and impact assessments.

• Analyze data transformation requirements and identify gaps between source and target systems.
• Define and document business rules, transformation logic, and validation requirements.
• Support regulatory, compliance, and operational data initiatives.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure accurate implementation of business requirements.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers working on Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines.
• Support analysis and validation of Azure Databricks (ADB) workflows and PySpark transformations.
• Review data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and integration requirements.
• Assist in defining business rules and validation logic for ETL/ELT processes.
• Participate in testing and validation of ADF and ADB solutions.
• Analyze data processing issues and support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.

Stakeholder & Project Coordination

• Act as a liaison between Business, Technology, Architecture, Data Governance, and Operations teams.
• Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, issues, and remediation plans.
• Coordinate requirements and deliverables across multiple technical and business teams.
• Support production issue investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise data governance, security, and compliance standards.
• Maintain clear and accurate project and technical documentation.
