Telesat is looking to hire a senior Solution Architect to develop detailed architecture plans, including system components, data flow, integration points, and security measures. This resource will also provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices, and analyze project requirements to translate them into technical specifications and architecture documents.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and design comprehensive IT solutions that align with organizational goals.
  2. Research and assess emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools to recommend suitable solutions for specific projects.
  3. Identify potential risks and issues related to the proposed solutions and develop mitigation strategies.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and business analysts, to ensure seamless implementation of solutions.
  5. Maintain accurate documentation of architectural designs, guidelines, and decisions.
  6. Optimize the performance and scalability of IT solutions, considering factors like load balancing and resource utilization.
Education and Experience Required:
  • In-depth knowledge of BSS components including Billing, CRM, Order Management, Revenue Assurance, and Mediation.
  • Several years of experience in IT architecture, software development, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in a variety of technologies, such as cloud platforms, programming languages, databases, and networking.
  • In-depth experience with BSS integration, open API standards, TM Forum, etc.
  • Knowledge of architectural frameworks like TOGAF or Zachman can be a plus.
  • Netcracker experience or experience with similar tools like Amdocs, Ericsson Automated Network Operation, Nokia, or others would also be a consideration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in guiding technical teams and influencing decision-making.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
