Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff in a variety of clinical and non‑clinical professions. We provide acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million, and an extended 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

Shift pattern: 9‑5 Monday to Friday, 8‑4 Monday to Friday.

The post is part of the SCS Business Support Team and delivers comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to In‑Reach, Specialist Children’s Services. Responsibilities include processing referrals, managing calls and enquiries, handling email, audio typing, minute taking, and collating micro‑strategy data via the electronic patient management system. The role also involves ad‑hoc administration duties and working closely with the Senior Business Support Assistant to update and forward operational tasks. Individuals must prioritise workload effectively and demonstrate strong teamwork skills.

Qualifications and experience: Demonstrated competency in a range of computer packages, evidenced by experience or a formal qualification such as ECDL. A recognized qualification in administration equivalent to an HNC in Secretarial Studies or Business Administration, or an SVQ in Administration (Level 3), or significant relevant practical experience is required. A solid understanding of office procedures and systems, and prior experience in a secretarial or administrative role, is essential. Full induction and on‑site training will be provided.
