Job summary

Echelon Insurance is hiring in Mississauga, ON for a production-support and testing-focused role around the Guidewire suite. You will translate business needs into system solutions and drive UAT and deployment readiness.

This 12-month maternity leave contract offers growth and cross-functional exposure in a collaborative team. Ideal candidates bring post-secondary education in IT/business, 5+ years insurance experience, and 1–3 years with Guidewire.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Business or Information Technology.
• Minimum 5 years' proven experience in the Insurance industries.
• Minimum 1-3 years experience with Guidewire.
• CIP, CRM, CBAP, CAPM, PMP preferred but not required.
• Bilingual (English and French) is nice to have.

Responsibilities

• Act as the key liaison for production incident intake, business impact assessment, and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze and document issues, propose fixes and workarounds to remediate and track resolution through to deployment.
• Partner with IT to analyze requirements to determine system potential, down and upstream system impact, and the relative impact to business.
• Facilitate review and sign-off of requirement artifacts, working with IT and other teams to validate feasibility and alignment.
• Inspire stakeholders in the art of the possible and utilize best practices to influence optimal solution design.
• Ensure test process, methodologies and tools are applied appropriately.
• Develop and document test scenarios, test matrices, and execute system integration testing.
• Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Post Acceptance Testing (PAT) after system implementation.

This is a 12-month Maternity Leave Contract

What You Will Do

You will lead the investigation and analysis of Production Issues from across the insurance business including Underwriting, Claims, Finance, with a focus on the Guidewire suite of Applications.

You will focus on understanding and addressing business needs by translating business needs into efficient system and process solutions You will drive User Acceptance Testing efforts for enhancements and changes, ensuring fixes are validated pre and post deployment. Your role bridges production support and testing to ensure operational stability, timely delivery and continuous improvement. You will drive system and process changes, managing your deliverable against set timelines for successful project and maintenance release deployments.

• Partner with IT to analyze requirements to determine system potential, down and upstream system impact, and the relative impact to business.
• Facilitate review and sign-off of requirement artifacts, working with IT and other teams to validate feasibility and alignment
• Inspire stakeholders in the art of the possible and utilize best practices to influence optimal solution design
• Ensure test process, methodologies and tools are applied appropriately
• Develop and document test scenarios, test matrices, and execute system integration testing
• Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Post Acceptance Testing (PAT) after system implementation
• Actively participate in the post implementation support and review phase
• Assist in updating system tables files accurately when changes are requested including product configuration and admin setup
• Assist in communicating to management, team leaders and trainers on any new or changed functionality of a system
• Provide technical support for clients via phone and e-mail to accurately record a detailed description of known issue, and work with cross functional teams to address in a timely manner

Who You Are

• Post-secondary education in Business or Information Technology
• Minimum 5 years' proven experience in the Insurance industries required
• Minimum 1-3 years experience with Guidewire
• CIP, CRM, CBAP, CAPM, PMP preferred but not required
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent written communication, verbal communication, and presentation skills
• Strong technical acumen and demonstrated experience in data gathering, data analysis, data backfilling, and the creation of conceptual and logical models
• Bilingual (English and French) is nice to have
