Job summary

Amazon Canada in Toronto is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer II to improve forecast accuracy and enable partner teams to optimize supply chain decisions. You will detect, diagnose, and correct forecast problems and generate metrics using AWS Redshift and Tableau.

A day in the life includes partnering with PMs and data scientists, building ETL pipelines, and delivering robust reporting for internal and external teams, with a focus on scalable forecasting for new Amazon businesses.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines.
• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
• Experience writing complex SQL queries.
• Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab.
• Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling.
• Knowledge of advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools (familiarity with Tableau preferred).
• Can work proactively and independently, meet deadlines, and deliver on projects and tasks.
• Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities.
• Confidence in dealing with technical and non-technical senior level staff.

A core part of the supply chain operations is Demand Forecasting: We forecast the demand of tens of millions of products. These forecasts are used to make many decisions, such as automatically order hundreds of millions worth of inventory, decide where to place that inventory, and establish labor plans for hundreds of warehouses.

We need a creative, smart and enthusiastic Business Intelligence Engineer. Your mission will be to improve forecast accuracy and enable partner teams and customers to optimize supply chain decisions. You will do this by detecting, diagnosing and correcting forecast problems and generating metrics and insights. You will have the resources and tools to help you deliver this mission - support from partner teams like Data Engineering/Data Science/Program, rich datasets and tools like AWS Redshift and Tableau.
