Brightway is a dedicated student support services organization helping international and regional high school and university students transition confidently and comfortably into life away from home. We provide comprehensive support to ensure that each student thrives in their academic and social life. We cater to various cultures and provide services in Mandarin, Korean, Spanish, and Hindi.

Role: General Manager / Operations Manager

The General Manager / Operations Manager will be responsible for leading and scaling Brightway’s student support operations across multiple campuses. This role works closely with university partners, families, community organizations, in-house mentors, and service providers to ensure an exceptional and consistent student support experience. This position is ideal for someone who has worked directly with university students in academic advising, student success, campus life, or international student support, and who is passionate about student well‑being and development.

Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Oversee day‑to‑day delivery of student support programs, housing coordination, orientation sessions, and wellness check‑ins.
  • Implement operational systems, student tracking frameworks, performance reporting, and escalation protocols.
  • Hire, train, and manage Student Life Ambassadors, Mentors, and Support Associates.
  • Student Support & Academic Oversight: Provide academic guidance, review academic progress, and liaise with university departments regarding performance concerns.
  • Support students in navigating course selections, grading systems, and academic policies.
  • Facilitate life skills development workshops (study habits, budgeting, social adaptation, etc.).
  • Support international students with cultural adjustment, communication, and social integration.
  • Establish and maintain clear protocols around privacy, emergency responses, and critical incident reporting.
  • Partnerships & Growth: Develop strong relationships with university administrators, residence operators, placement agencies, and community partners; support scaling into new campus markets and enhance program offerings.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience working directly with university students (e.g., Student Life, Residence Life, Academic Advising, Student Support Services, Campus Wellness).
  • Strong understanding of university academic structures, grading systems, and student performance evaluation.
  • Experience operating or coordinating academic, counseling, or youth development programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to support students facing social, emotional, or adjustment challenges.
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or a related field is required. Candidates with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the education sector may be considered in lieu of the academic qualification.
