Assistant General Manager

The Assistant General Manager works closely with the General Manager/Owner to oversee all aspects of daily pub operations. This role blends hands‑on leadership with strategic support, helping manage staff, streamline systems, and drive the success of our front‑of‑house and overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and support the front‑of‑house team to deliver outstanding guest experiences
• Manage and oversee daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, service standards, and floor management
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of team members
• Support the scheduling, payroll, and inventory management processes
• Oversee cash handling, POS systems, and reconciliation
• Work collaboratively with the General Manager/Owner on budgets, cost control, and performance targets
• Handle guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism, warmth, and discretion
• Support marketing and promotional activities, including social media engagement and event coordination
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and high‑performing workplace culture
• Step in as acting manager in the General Manager’s absence

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive management experience in hospitality or restaurant management
• Strong organizational, administrative, and leadership skills
• Skilled at building positive team dynamics and resolving conflicts constructively
• Confident managing budgets, labor, inventory, and operational systems
• Tech‑savvy, with experience using POS, scheduling, and inventory platforms
