Position Overview

We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Representative with experience in B2B sales in the utility sector to join our growing team. This role will focus on building relationships with utility companies, vegetation management contractors, engineering firms, and related stakeholders to expand adoption of our geospatial and vegetation management solutions.

The ideal candidate brings proven experience in B2B solution sales, a strong understanding of the utility sector, and the ability to navigate complex customer needs. Experience with vegetation management and/or geospatial data is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to grow new and existing accounts in the utility sector.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, particularly with utilities and vegetation management firms.
  • Build strong customer relationships through consultative selling and a deep understanding of client challenges.
  • Present solutions, demonstrations, and proposals tailored to customer needs.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to closing, including contract negotiation.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and operations teams to align customer needs with business offerings.
  • Track activities, opportunities, and pipeline using CRM tools.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Science, Geomatics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas.
  • Experience selling into the utility sector is required.
  • Knowledge of vegetation management practices strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with geospatial data, GIS, or remote sensing is an asset.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a pipeline across long sales cycles.

Details
  • This is an in-person role at our Calgary office and the candidate must be already located in Calgary or the surrounding area.
  • Expected 40 hours per week
  • Travel may be up to 30% of the time in this role.
