Blending consultative relationship management with proactive business development, the Business Development Representative (BDR) is a dual-function sales role designed to drive both account expansion and new business growth across Innovatia’s core markets: Banking, Enterprise Technology, and Public Sector. This individual will manage a small portfolio of strategic accounts while actively developing new opportunities aligned to Innovatia’s professional service offerings in Learning, Technical Writing, and Content Strategy.

Location: Remote Canada (with travel to client sites and conferences expected)

Responsibilities
Account Management
  • Manage and grow 3-4 assigned accounts, focusing on expansion, renewals, and client satisfaction.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and maintain/develop multi-level relationships within each client organization.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities in Learning, Consulting, and Technical Writing.
  • Collaborate with delivery and subject matter experts to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Maintain account plans with clear growth strategies and revenue forecasts.
New Business Development
  • Identify and pursue new logo opportunities within Banking, Enterprise Tech, and Public Sector verticals.
  • Execute targeted outreach in collaboration with Marketing (ABM campaigns, events, LinkedIn prospecting).
  • Manage the full sales cycle — from prospecting to proposal and close.
  • Represent Innovatia at 2–3 key conferences annually to drive brand visibility and lead generation.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Skilled at consultative, solutions-based selling.
  • Excellent discovery, presentation, and proposal development skills.
  • Strong negotiation and closing capabilities.
  • Experience building pipeline from targeted outbound, networking, and marketing collaboration.
  • Comfortable engaging C-suite and Director-level decision-makers.
  • Confident storyteller who can articulate value through outcomes, not just features.
  • Highly organized, disciplined, and self-motivated.
  • Data-driven with strong business acumen.
  • Team-oriented collaborator who thrives in a lean, high-accountability environment.
  • Able to balance multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • 5–8 years of B2B sales experience selling into large enterprise, ideally in professional services, eLearning, or consulting.
  • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding quotas of $1M+ annually.
  • Experience managing enterprise accounts and new logo pursuits.
  • Familiarity with structured CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Experience collaborating with marketing to execute ABM or lead‑gen campaigns.
  • Exposure to Learning, Technical Writing, or Knowledge Services is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Sales certifications or enterprise selling methodology training (e.g., Challenger, SPIN, MEDDIC) preferred.
