Screening criteria

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:

Education

Post-graduate degree, preferably in Material Science or Engineering.

PhD in the domain of battery material science would be an asset.

  • Significant and recent experience in developing partnerships for research, development and deployment of clean technologies in the Canadian marketplace, preferably within the context of a federal funding organization.
  • Significant and recent experience in developing and commercializing energy storage technologies, preferably within a private sector organization.
  • Significant and recent experience in negotiating complex agreements and reviewing contracts.
  • Significant and recent experience in leveraging intellectual property to address industry challenges.
  • Significant experience in communicating both verbally and in writing technology business opportunities to potential and existing clients.
  • Experience supporting and leading business-related activities within an industrial or research organization.
Condition of employment

Reliability Status

For a Reliability Status, verification of background information over a period of 5 years is required.

Candidates will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Knowledge of batteries and electrification and/or critical minerals.
  • Ability to use well developed influencing strategies to achieve outcomes.
  • Proven record of success in analyzing market dynamics and translating this into business opportunities with key prospects and accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet stakeholder engagement objectives, outreach or marketing targets through opportunities which are aligned with strategic goals and that have had significant impact for the organization.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian innovation landscape, including leading players (companies, academic institutions, granting agencies) in critical mineral and battery energy storage supply chains would be consideredan asset.

The intent of this hiring action is to staff this position at theRCO-3 to RCO-4 level, which is a well established-career level position with a salary range of $119,688 to $168,192.

NOTE: Please note that the full RO/RCO salary scale has five levels. Salary determination will be based on a review of the candidate’s expertise, outcomes and impacts of their previous work experience relative to the requirements of the level. As such, the initial salary could be within another level of the RO/RCO salary scale (i.e. above or below the intended level for this position).
