Job summary

A leading sustainable building products company seeks a Business Development Manager for the Western Canada territory. This role involves engaging specification influencers and promoting high-performance building envelope products. Candidates should have a minimum of 7-10 years in commercial construction sales, superb communication skills, and preferably hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Competitive salary in the range of $75-$100k plus annual bonus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in commercial construction/specification sales development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AEC community, preferably in designated territory.
  • Preference for CDT, CCPR and LEED-AP/GA within one year.

We are looking for a Business Development Manager for our Western Canada territory!

Summary :

Engage Specification Influencers, Building Owners, Architects & Designers, Design-Build / GC firms and other building enclosure influencers regarding Kingspan high performance building envelope products and systems. Influence product selection and increase project specifications and manage project hand off to associated sales teams. Broad knowledge of building science, enclosure design and construction are required with general knowledge of sustainability, energy efficiency, building codes, and influencing design aesthetics through market education and consultative spec development activities.

Essential Duties :
  • Obtain specification of high-performance envelope systems for commercial building projects early in the design-development process.
  • Educating key influencers in commercial building design through live presentations, education and demonstrations.
  • Engaging, and actively participating in, industry organizations that influence specifications and product selection in commercial building projects, including AIA, AIA / BEC, CSI, USGBC, RCI etc. in targeted geographic areas.
  • Meet strategic targets to support aggressive growth goals by increasing quantity and quality of product specifications for major building projects using Kingspan enclosure materials.
  • Diligently record and communicate all activities and incremental metrics in CRM program.
Education / Experience :
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, design / construction, architecture or related field- highly preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in commercial construction / specification sales development
  • Understanding of building science, codes, green building rating systems and related NGOs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AEC community, preferably in designated territory
  • Ability to interface with top-level executives, design teams and industry organizations
  • Preference for CDT, CCPR and LEED-AP / GA, with the understanding that this will be a requirement within one year’s time
Computer Skills :
  • Must be highly proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM is a plus.

  • Preferred location : Vancouver
  • Base $75-$100k / year (based on location, experience and qualifications) plus annual bonus
