Overview

TalentCompass is a people-focused talent acquisition service provider based in Edmonton, Canada and as a part of our expansion, we are seeking an experienced BusinessDevelopmentManager for our team. This is a remote role, and you can be based in Edmonton, Red Deer or Calgary.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the VP, Growth and Development, this role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development within the staffing or recruitment industry and a passion for connecting talent with opportunity. The responsibilities are as follows, but they are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to expand TalentCompass’s staffing services across Canada.
  • Identify, target, and engage potential clients within key industries to establish long-term partnerships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers, HR professionals, and organizational decision-makers.
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends and emerging opportunities.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle—from lead generation to contract negotiation and closure.
  • Collaborate closely with recruitment team to ensure successful placements and client satisfaction.
  • Attend networking events, tradeshows, and industry conferences to expand business opportunities.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs related to revenue growth and client acquisition.
  • Utilize cold-calling and other outreach strategies to uncover new business opportunities and gather market intelligence.
Qualifications
  • Proven background in business development or sales, ideally within the staffing or recruitment industry.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with a consistent record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with acute attention to detail.
