Our client a leader in demolition has partnered with Magellan Group in sourcing a Business Development Manager – Eastern Ontario.

Reporting to the President, the incumbent is responsible for prospecting, acquiring new clients, and managing relationships with existing clients in the selective and architectural demolition sector, as well as in asbestos, mold, and lead contamination removal. They will work closely with the operational teams to ensure that client needs are met, and projects are completed according to requirements.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Client Prospecting and Acquisition : Identify and target potential new clients in the selective and architectural demolition sector, including real estate developers, general contractors, and construction companies, primarily in the commercial sector.

Identify, target, and actively participate in tenders in the selective and architectural demolition sector, primarily in the institutional and governmental sectors.

Conduct on-site visits to assess potential client needs and present company services.

Develop customized business proposals and quotes based on the specifications for selective and architectural demolition and asbestos, mold, and lead decontamination projects.

Market Analysis : Stay informed on market trends, new regulations in selective and architectural demolition, and asbestos, mold, and lead decontamination.

Identify growth opportunities in new segments or geographical areas, mainly in the Outaouais region in Quebec and the Greater Ottawa area in Ontario.

Stay informed about key competitors in the targeted territories and the services they offer.

Contract Negotiation and Closing : Lead commercial negotiations with clients, ensuring agreements are mutually beneficial in terms of meeting client needs and adhering to the company's pricing structure.

Finalize and close contracts in alignment with the company’s profitability goals.

Client Account Management : Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing clients by ensuring quality service.

Serve as the main point of contact for clients regarding project progress and additional needs.

Proactively and promptly address any client issues or concerns.

Project Follow-Up : Work closely with operational and project management teams to ensure projects are executed according to standards and deadlines.

Monitor project progress and update clients on any changes or developments.

Attend site meetings when necessary.

Skills and qualifications
  • Sales experience in the construction, demolition, or related industry. Experience in the commercial industry will be considered a significant asset.
  • Knowledge of demolition processes in selective and architectural demolition and decontamination standards for asbestos, mold, and lead (a significant asset).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Neat, professional appearance and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual (French and English) both spoken and written.
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
