Job summary

IFG - International Financial Group in Toronto is seeking an experienced Business Consultant to support financial governance, project coordination, resource management, and operational governance. The role focuses on financial reporting, forecasting, process improvement, and senior leadership support.

The 4-month contract is based in Toronto with hybrid work arrangements (Mondays and the first Friday of each month on-site).

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in Business Effectiveness or similar roles.
• Experience with project financials, forecasting, GL reconciliation, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Analytical and data interpretation skills with ability to translate data into insights.
• Experience with process documentation, design, and improvement.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Support project financial management, including forecasting, actuals, accruals, GL reconciliation, and variance analysis.
• Prepare financial, operational, and status reporting for senior leadership.
• Monitor financial and operational activities and escalate risks, issues, and action items.
• Support resource management and allocation governance across multiple workstreams.
• Lead and support governance activities, process documentation, and process improvements.
• Analyze data from multiple systems and provide clear insights and recommendations.
• Support user onboarding, training, and first-line support for resource and project management tools.
• Prepare executive presentations, reports, and ad hoc analysis related to financial and operational metrics.
• Manage multiple priorities, timelines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders and business teams to support operational efficiency and governance.

Our client, a leading Canadian financial institution, is looking for an experienced Business Consultant to support financial governance, project coordination, resource management, operational governance, and business effectiveness. The role will focus on financial reporting, forecasting, process improvement, governance activities, and supporting senior leadership with analysis and reporting.

Contract: 4 months

Location: Toronto – Hybrid, Monday and first Friday of every month

• Experience preparing executive-level presentations and reporting.
