Kinross Gold Corporation currently seeks a Business Analyst, Cost Control to support project forecasting and reporting through data analysis, dashboards, and presentations. The role will assist with cost reviews, forecast updates, and performance trend analysis, reporting to the Cost Control and Contract Administration Manager and collaborating with planning and other departments.

Thebase salary ranges from $100,000 to $120,000 CAD, with potential short-term incentive and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Business, or equivalent.
• 5 years of project business analysis or cost control experience in capital projects.

Responsabilités

• Understand project scope, budget, and schedule.
• Develop superuser level knowledge of the project cost control system and provide training.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts, accruals, cash flows, and performance metrics.
• Analyze costs at work package level and identify variances and risks.
• Review contractor cost and progress information.
• Create Excel/BI dashboards and tracking tools to improve data analysis.
• Prepare reports and executive briefing materials.
• Support ad hoc business analysis activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and data quality.
• Ensure safety and Kinross Safeground alignment.
• Comply with acts and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Business Analyst, Project Controls will support project forecasting and reporting using data analysis, dashboards, and presentation material. The role will assist with cost reviews and forecast updates, analyze project performance and cost trends, and prepare reports and presentations. Reporting to the Cost Control and Contract Administration Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with planning and other departments.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop an understanding of the project scope, budget, and schedule.
• Develop ‘superuser’ level knowledge of the project cost control system, provide training, and support to the project team members as required.
• Support the Project Control team in the preparation of cost reports, forecasts, accruals, cash flows, and performance metrics.
• Analyze project commitments and costs at a work package level, assist in identifying trend variances and risks.
• Review contractor cost and progress information.
• Develop and maintain Excel based or BI models, dashboards, and tracking tools to improve data analysis and reporting efficiency.
• Prepare reports and presentations, and executive briefing materials.
• Support ad hoc business analysis activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting activities reporting processes, data quality, and analytic tools.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Business, or equivalent.A minimum of 5 years of project business analysis and/or cost control experience, preferably in capital project environments, during engineering and/or construction phases.

Mining experience is an asset.

• Proficiency with MS Office including PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to analyze, summarize and present complex data for information and decisions.
• Strong attention to detail.

Work Conditions

This position will initially be based in Toronto, Ontario, with remote work arrangements potentially available. As the project progresses to Construction, the role will transition to regular rotations in Red Lake, Ontario. The schedule for this position is 5X2.

Compensation and Total Rewards

The base salary for the Business Analyst, Cost Control is $100,000.00 to $120,000.00 + Short Term Incentive, + Group Benefit Coverage.
