Job Posting: Bus Driver Trainer

At Coach Canada, safety, reliability, and service excellence are at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking a Part-Time Driver Trainer to mentor and develop our professional drivers. This role is essential to maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and customer care while offering flexibility for an experienced professional.

Bus Driver Trainer Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver driver training and evaluations on a part-time, as-needed basis, including classroom sessions, on-road instruction, and refresher courses.
  • Ensure all training aligns with the Canada Labour Code, MTO, DOT, FMCSA, and company safety policies and initiatives.
  • Conduct driver evaluations and ride-alongs to monitor performance, safety compliance, and customer service standards.
  • Coach drivers on best practices for passenger accessibility, luggage handling, and emergency response procedures.
  • Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate with Operations and HR to support driver onboarding, performance improvement, and ongoing development initiatives.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, inclusion, and professional excellence across all locations.

Bus Driver Trainer Qualifications

  • Valid BZ driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • P.R.I.D.E Program certified
  • Minimum 5 years of professional coach or commercial driving experience.
  • Signing authority with the Ministry of Transportation.
  • Prior experience as a trainer, instructor, or mentor in a transportation environment is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and provincial transportation regulations.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deliver both classroom-based and hands-on, on-road instruction.
  • Commitment to safety, accessibility, and customer service excellence.
  • Open availability is required - training sessions may be scheduled on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
