Job summary

A community services provider in Calgary is looking for a Bus Driver to provide safe and courteous transportation services to residents. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, a valid Class 4 driver's license, and 1-2 years of driving experience. Strong communication skills and customer service experience are also desired. Join our team to help support our residents in their daily transportation needs.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience as a driver.
  • Valid Class 4 driver's license with a clean driver's record.
  • Experience in customer service is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Transport residents to scheduled activities.
  • Assist residents during boarding and exiting the vehicle.
  • Operate the vehicle safely and in compliance with laws.

Reporting to the Recreation Manager, the Bus Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and courteous transportation services to residents.

Responsibilities
  • Transporting residents to scheduled activities and other scheduled destinations as applicable
  • Assists residents during boarding and exiting the vehicle, and when they cross the street when the vehicle is stopped to ensure their safety.
  • Operates the vehicle safely and in compliance with traffic laws, organizational policies, and licensing requirements.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of the bus such as filling the gas tank and windshield washer fluid, checking tire pressure and checking the oil.
  • Ensures vehicles are regularly cleaned and sanitized, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Supports all related tasks during resident outings to ensure the continuity and the quality of the services.
  • Performsother duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class 4 driver’s license with a clean driversrecord
  • 1-2 years of experience as a driver.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in customer service is an asset.
