Job description

Title: Building Surveyor

Location: Greater Toronto Area

Company: Triumph Group of Companies

Role Overview

The Building Surveyor leads detailed condition surveys of building exteriors, using 3D laser scanning and other surveying processes to capture accurate data on cladding systems, water infiltration points, and structural wear. You will translate raw scan data and site measurements into clear drawings, reports, and remediation recommendations that project managers, engineers, and clients can act on. Good work in this role means catching issues in the data that others would miss and explaining them in language that makes sense to the people doing the work and working on the project. You will split your time between processing scan data and building reports in the office and walking building envelopes on active job sites across the GTA. The people who thrive here can operate scanning and surveying equipment with precision, but they are just as comfortable standing in a room with management explaining what the numbers mean. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, estimators, and site teams, and your survey findings will often set the direction for how a cladding project gets scoped and priced.

What We Offer
  • Salary: $75,000 - $100,000
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision
  • Vehicle allowance or company vehicle for site travel
  • Company provided 3D scanning and drone equipment, kept current with the latest hardware and software
  • Hybrid schedule with a mix of office based data processing and site visits across the GTA
  • Stable, year round work with a growing building envelope and restoration division
  • Direct exposure to project managers, engineers, and clients across multiple sectors
  • Clear path for advancement within Triumph Group of Companies
What You Bring to the Table
Technical Skills
  • 5 to 8 years of building surveying experience, with a focus on cladding systems and building envelope assessment
  • Hands on experience operating 3D laser scanning equipment (such as FARO or Leica) and processing point cloud data
  • Proficiency in BIM and CAD software (Revit, AutoCAD) to convert scan data into accurate drawings and reports
  • Valid drone pilot certification (Transport Canada Basic or Advanced RPAS) for aerial building envelope inspections
  • Building or cladding surveying certification (RICS, CTTP, or equivalent), with working knowledge of Ontario Building Code requirements
Attributes
  • You have an eye for detail and can spot a cladding defect or measurement discrepancy that others would miss
  • You can explain technical scan data and survey findings clearly to people who have never seen a point cloud before
  • You take ownership of your survey findings and stand behind your reports when questions come up
  • You are comfortable moving between office based data processing and hands on work at height or on active job sites
  • You communicate directly with project managers, engineers, and clients, and you do not let information get lost between the field and the office
