Job summary

Days Inn Golden is seeking an experienced hotel maintenance worker to ensure the upkeep of our property on site in Golden, BC. You will perform cleaning, minor repairs, and routine maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and facilities, while supervising other staff as needed.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of hands-on experience, a secondary school certificate, and the ability to work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• 5 years or more of related work experience.
• On-site work at the physical location; no remote option.
• Education: Secondary (high school) graduation certificate.
• Experience in building maintenance and repairs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs.
• Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse.
• Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
• Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
• Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
• Perform minor repairs on appliances.
• Supervise other workers.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies.
• Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
• Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
