Job summary

McKenzieHCR seeks a hands-on Maintenance Manager/Handyman to oversee building systems and grounds in a senior living facility. You will implement and maintain a preventative maintenance program to keep the home safe, accessible, and welcoming for residents, staff, and visitors.

Reporting to the Site Leader, you will manage work orders, coordinate quotes, and collaborate with vendors to deliver high-quality service while supporting winter maintenance and fire safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance leadership and ability to manage building systems.
• Experience coordinating preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to obtain quotes and supervise vendors effectively.
• Strong safety mindset and reliability in a care-home setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical, mechanical, and grounds systems for safety and functionality.
• Manage work orders, PM schedules, and asset history using Maintenance Care.
• Prioritize and execute repairs; obtain quotes from local trades and suppliers.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure quality service.
• Provide winter maintenance, keeping sidewalks and exits clear of ice.
• Support fire safety programs and quality assurance initiatives.

As the Maintenance Manager/ Handyman, you'll be a crucial part of the team, responsible for overseeing the seamless operations of our buildings and grounds.

Reporting to the Site Leader, as the Maintenance Manager/ Handyman you'll be the go-to expert, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to keep this seniors living care home in top condition for our residents, guests, and staff.

Maintenance Manager/ Handyman Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all building systems, including electrical, mechanical, and grounds, ensuring safety and functionality
• Manage work orders, preventative maintenance, and asset history using our Maintenance Care software
• Prioritize and execute repairs, obtaining quotes from local trades, suppliers, and contractors
• Collaborate effectively with all vendors and contractors to deliver high‑quality service
• Provide winter maintenance, keeping sidewalks, patios, and exits clear of ice and snow
• Support our fire safety program and quality assurance initiatives
