Broadcast & Community Relations Manager
The Swift Current Broncos Hockey Club has an exciting opportunity to be a key part of the Swift Current Broncos as the voice of the broadcasts, an integral part of the organization’s public communication activities, and the manager of community relations. This unique role is focused on providing an industry leading level of exciting and intriguing content to our fans, in order to deeply connect our fans to our hockey team and organization. This roleis essential to the Broncos organization as we look to further develop our communication channels, including game-day broadcasts, podcasts, player interviews and features, and content that will provide Broncos Nation with leading in-depth coverage and access that we believe our fans will truly appreciate.

Key Responsibilities:
Game-Day Broadcast
- Covering all aspects of the Broncos game-day, including:
- Pre-game and post-game coverage, analysis, and interviews
- Play-by-play coverage during the game
- Providing in-depth coverage of player, coach, and organizational activities to listeners
- Managing the integration of sponsorship activations
- Continuously producing intriguing content to integrate into the game-day broadcast
- Connecting game-day coverage to social media
- Managing the equipment and infrastructure needed to deliver our game-day broadcast to our broadcast partner (Golden West Broadcasting – Country 94.1)
Podcast Member
- Contributing to a reoccurring podcast that provides intriguing content and stories relating to:
- Recent and upcoming games
- Behind the scenes access and stories with players and coaches
- Alumni relations
- Community activities
- Managing the production equipment platform used to deliver our podcasts
Public/Media Relations/Hockey Content Production
- Provide information to the public and media on all Broncos on and off-ice news through press releases and social media
- Complete/modify digital images, graphics, and video to support content production
- Liaising with the WHL in regards to statistics and public relations requirements
- Responsible for website and all social media communication relating to hockey activities and announcements, working alongside the Senior Marketing & Brand Manager
- Responsible for all league and media requirements pre and post-game such as game notes, interview coordination with external media, updating website with game-day stats, photos etc.
- Facilitate interview requests from external media that occur throughout the year for players, coaches, office staff
- Responsible for the game-day program
- Coverage of the team throughout the off-season including: WHL Prospects Draft, NHL Draft, CHL Import Draft, WHL Awards, Training Camp, etc.
Community Relations
- Managing and hosting community relations activities, including:
- Establishing creative community relations activities that build on our current programs
- Acting as the main point of contact for community relations
- Scheduling players, coaches, and alumni
- Acting as the host for community activities
- League Reporting
- Updating information and statistics based on league requirements
Additional Game-Day Duties
- Assisting with promoting the game through all communication channels
- Game-day staffing support and responsibilities
- Working with other Broncos staff to create unique game-day specials, promotions, and marketing activities
Community Focused
- Acting as a prominent member of the organization; both within the organization, and externally with media and the community.
- Representing the Swift Current Broncos organization professionally and courteously through the Broncos media and community events, and in all other activities
- Prioritizing the mission, vision, and values of the Swift Current Broncos, and supporting the organization in their duty to serve the community.
Requirements and qualifications:
- Play-by-play broadcast experience with a junior or higher-level hockey organization (CJHL, WHL, AHL, NHL etc.), or equivalent level sports organization
- Experience with technical components of a broadcast production and system
- Experience in a community relations and public relations environment within a sports team or similar operation
- Intermediate video content production abilities (e.g. Adobe Premier Pro / imovie etc.), and intermediate graphic design abilities considered an asset (Adobe Photoshop/InDesign etc.)
- Experience in a team-based work environment
- General Business experience with a Not-for-profit organization considered an asset
- University Degree or Diploma in a relevant field is considered an asset

- Must be able to travel with team on all road trips and team activities
- Must be locally situated or willing to relocate to Swift Current, Saskatchewan
- Must be legally able to travel outside of Canada
Wage/Salary Info:
- Annual salary based on experience, plus potential bonuses
