Job Overview

Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Project Manager – Bridges in Edmonton, AB.

A leading Canadian engineering firm is seeking a Project Manager – Bridges to join their Edmonton office. This role is ideal for a professional with 7+ years of progressive structural engineering and/or project management experience in the transportation sector, offering the opportunity to lead bridge projects for a variety of public and private sector clients. Responsibilities include managing project budgets and schedules, leading multidisciplinary design teams, preparing technical reports and fee estimates, and supporting business development initiatives.

The team is collaborative, dynamic, and technically driven, focused on delivering high-quality infrastructure projects such as Edmonton’s Valley Line South LRT, Edmonton-Strathcona Footbridge, and the 65th Ave Overpass. The role provides opportunities to further develop technical skills while taking a leadership role on multi-discipline projects.

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university; post-graduate degree in Structural Engineering or Project Management is an asset
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGA
  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive structural engineering and/or project management experience in transportation projects
  • Proven project management experience, including budget and schedule management
  • Technical expertise in the design and construction of bridges is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Self‑motivated, committed team player, and effective leader of multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients, including provincial and municipal stakeholders
  • Occasional travel required
  • Valid driver’s license
Nice to Haves
  • Experience working with Alberta Transportation and the City of Edmonton
  • Experience on large, multi‑discipline bridge infrastructure projects
