Job summary

Vancouver General Hospital, part of Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), invites applications for a full-time Breast Plastic Surgeon in the UBC Division of Plastic Surgery. The role focuses on breast reconstruction with subspecialty fellowship training and microsurgical expertise, with on-call coverage within the division.

Candidates must be RCPSC certified in Plastic Surgery, eligible for BC licensure, and capable of contributing to teaching at all levels.

Qualifications

Come work as a Breast Plastic Surgeon with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

The UBC Division of Plastic Surgery is accepting applications for a full-time permanent position in breast reconstruction. Applicants must have subspecialty fellowship training in breast reconstruction, including microsurgical reconstruction. The successful candidate will be expected to cover full time general plastic surgery call within the division. Training and/or experience in lymphedema surgery will be an asset. Applicants must be certified in Plastic Surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Canada), and be eligible for licensure by the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons. The successful applicant must qualify for an UBC clinical appointment and will be expected to be involved in teaching at all levels. Available resources include access to the main Operating Room, Minor Treatment Room, and a hospital based hand clinic.

As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering any missing vaccines, and appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. For all new hires and appointments to Vancouver Coastal Health, you will be asked to provide this information as part of the onboarding process.
