Job summary

Sapling Financial Consultants in Toronto is seeking an ambitious Consultant with experience in transaction advisory, corporate finance, FP&A, or related fields to deliver high-quality financial due diligence and modelling.

You will develop quality of earnings reports, build KPI dashboards, analyze market data and present insights to management, while growing with a boutique team known for its expertise and client focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is required.
• 2–4 years of professional services experience in transaction advisory, corporate finance, public accounting, FP&A, private equity, investment banking, or related fields.
• Strong computer literacy with advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• CPA or CFA designation is desirable.
• Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Power BI, SQL or MySQL and programming languages is welcomed but not required.
• Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn.
• Ability to take ownership and work independently.
• Flexibility to work extended hours including weekends.
• Experience coaching junior staff is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with financial due diligence to identify risks and deal breakers.
• Analyze financial statements and operational data to drive insights.
• Evaluate earnings quality, net assets and cash flows.
• Prepare deal-oriented reports and presentations for clients.
• Develop earnings databooks for M&A processes.
• Conduct market and industry research for business plans and valuations.
• Develop financial analyses from accounting and operational data.
• Build comprehensive financial models (LBO, debt/equity, budgeting).
• Create KPI dashboards to guide finance strategy.
• Manage client relationships and seek new opportunities.
• Supervise work of Analysts and ensure quality control.
• Support proposals, marketing materials and client outreach.
